Incidents in the Neighbourhood

Dear Residents of the Auditorium Neighbourhood,

Regrettably, we advise that again two cars were looted in the past days in the neighbourhood.   The first was near to Simeon and Krug and the other was near to the corner of Simeon and Pandora.  An empty computer bag was taken from one of them.

Since the past summer, when similar events occurred, more police presence was requested and provided to our area, including officers doing bike patrol through the neighbourhood.   However, the tenacity of the wrongdoers continues to abound, so please remain alert,  communicative with your neighbours and mindful to always take valuables with you.   Please be reminded not to leave any bags, purses, I-Pads, briefcases, or anything valuable or appearing valuable on the seats in plain view of persons who may pass by parked vehicles.  As well, we remind of the following:

1. it is important to report every incident to the police. You can do this one one of two ways:

2. Finally, you can read about tips to help prevent break-ins by by referring to the ANA’s web page found at: http://auditoriumna.org/2014/09/10/incidents-in-the-neighbourhood

And read further police tips at: http://www.wrps.on.ca/stay-safe/protecting-your-property

Thank you to those who have passed along this information to the ANA in such a timely manner.

ANA Anual General Meeting. February 2nd at 7:30, at the AUD

imagesSAVE THE DATE, Neighbours!

On Monday February 2nd, the Annual General Meeting of our Auditorium Neighbourhood Association will take place at the Subscriber’s Lounge at the Auditorium from 7:30 to 9:00 pm.

If you’ve ever wondered what mischief your neighbourhood association is up to, you should attend. Updates will be given on the recent activities of the Auditorium Neighbourhood Association by members of the 2014 ANA Board.

You’ll also have the opportunity to meet the District Facilitator from the Community Programs and Services branch of the City of Kitchener, Ms. Abbie Grafstein. She has been this neighbourhood’s liaison to the larger machinery of municipal governance for several years, and a fabulous resource for the ANA.

Finally, if you’ve ever thought of getting more involved in your immediate sphere of influence, the opportunity now looms large. New executive and board members are welcomed so that the familiar adage that ‘many hands make light work’ might be given the fullest effect.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Melanie Toolsie
President, ANA

Meeting on September 18 with Police Department at Bethany Church

D_waterloo2-630x250To all people in the Eastward area… as we are well aware, there have been a rash of garage, house, and car break-ins recently.

Constable Kurtis Glode of the Waterloo Regional Police Dept has set up a community meeting for Thursday Sept. 18, from 6pm-8pm at Bethany Church on Lancaster. He would like to have as many people as possible from the neighbourhood to attend. The police department wants to discuss the situation and also advise all of what we as a community can do.
Please share this meeting information with all your neighbours.  Let’s make everyone aware of this important event and have a good turn out.
Thanks!!
