Hoodkicks Registration

HoodKicks Soccer will run for families in the ANA, ENAK and KENA Neighbourhoods this Spring, starting mid May!

We will organize and run the 2025 season then we are looking for two volunteers to run it next year for the 2026 season. Please send us an email if you are interested and we will help you get set up for the 2026 season.

Soccer will run on Wednesday evenings from May 14th until June 25th at the soccer field in Knollwood Park (by Sheppard School) at 6 p.m. and will run from half an hour to 45 minutes depending on the age group.

Registration is open. Please register here!

Due to the high volume of children in the neighbourhood, this program is only open to those that live within the ANA/ENAK/KENA boundaries.

As always, this program is run 100% on our volunteers, so please consider volunteering to be a coach so we can continue to run this fantastic program. We will make an effort to have at least two coaches per team.

We can’t wait to see you on the field this Spring!

Update

The revitalization of Knollwood Park has been taking shape over the past year. The City of Kitchener, the Kitchener Rangers, and many individuals and businesses from our community have contributed funds and volunteered time to improve the beauty and design of our park. Here’s what we’ve accomplished so far:

• New trail
• New pavilion and picnic table • Playground extension

• 49 new trees

• Modernization of the sports field • New garbage containers

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to the Knollwood Park pavilion. We’ve received $25,000 from the Kitchener Rangers, $10,000 from a Festival of Neighbourhoods grant and over $11,000 from neighbours. Your generosity has been enormous!

Thank you to local architect David Thompson for donating his time and talent to create the design and oversee the construction of the pavilion.

There’s still time to donate

More funds are needed to finish the pavilion. New donations will pay for the addition of brick to the pavilion columns.

Donations of any size are welcome. You’ll receive a tax receipt for a donation of $20 or more.

Donate by August 27th for Special Recognition

Donate $100 or more by August 27th, 2015, and you’ll also receive recognition on a special sign that will be installed in the park in September.

How to donate

Please make your cheque payable to the City of Kitchener. Drop off your donation, or call us and we’ll pick it up:

Neighbours Day” Soccer Event

The City of Kitchener has declared Saturday June 13 as Neighbours Day.

We’re celebrating by joining together with 2 other Ward 10 neighbourhood soccer programs for a special morning of soccer.

Saturday June 13
Knollwood Park soccer field (behind Sheppard School)

Registration: 9:30 am

Soccer/Games: 10 am to Noon

Kids 4 & under:  They will be divided into groups  that will circulate between stations with different games.  We’ll switch after about 15 – 20 minutes and keep going as long as the kids are interested in participating (or noon if they last that long!)

Kids 5 – 7 / Kids 8 & Up: They will be divided into teams as they arrive. The plan is for each team to have a mix kids from different neighbourhoods. If we have enough kids, each team will play 2 or 3 games against different teams. If we have a smaller group, we’ll have a longer game with an intermission.

Please wear your neighbourhood soccer shirt! Bring your own ball so that we can do some warm up drills.

We’re also looking for some families to volunteer with:
– running the games
– supplying “soccer oranges” or possibly other “school-friendly” snacks (i.e. no nuts).

Thanks,

ANA Team
